Chiyan Glass "Xinjiang Ultra Thin Flexible Glass Key Laboratory" has been approved
On October 21st, the Science and Technology Department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region announced the newly recognized 22 key laboratories of the autonomous region. The "Xinjiang Ultra Thin Flexible Glass Key Laboratory" declared by Xinjiang Tengyu Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd., the production base of Chiyan Glass U series, has been approved for construction.
As one of the important measures to build a technological innovation highland in the Silk Road Economic Belt region based on the construction layout and development needs of the "nine major industrial clusters" in Xinjiang Autonomous Region, this laboratory relies on the Chiyan Glass Research Institute and cooperates with Xinjiang University to gather high-level R&D teams in the materials field, focusing on the development of new UTG ultra-thin flexible glass materials, sample physical and chemical testing, and production process technology improvement, further enhancing the independent innovation ability and R&D level of enterprises, injecting strong impetus into the construction and development of scientific and technological innovation platforms.
UTG ultra-thin flexible glass is a key material for the new generation of flexible display and folding display panels, with broad market prospects. The global flexible display market will continue to explode in 2024. It is predicted that UTG shipments will reach 24.6 million pieces in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 36.9%, and climb to 33.7 million pieces in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 36.7%. In the coming years, the compound annual growth rate of UTG shipments will maintain a good growth momentum. Xinjiang Tengyu Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd., as a production base for the U series products of Chiyan Glass, has the first and currently the only domestically produced UTG production line with a one-time drawing and forming process. It has achieved mass production of UTG products with a thickness of 30-200 microns, effectively ensuring the localization development process of folding displays.
