During the meeting, six representatives of private enterprise leaders successively put forward opinions and suggestions on promoting the development of the private economy under the new situation. In 2024, the number of China's top 100 global science and technology innovation clusters will continue to rank first in the world; China's global innovation ranking has risen to 11th place, becoming one of the fastest growing economies in innovation in the past decade. Behind these impressive achievements that mark the height of China's scientific and technological innovation, the private economy plays an indispensable role. In 2024, private enterprises will account for over 90% and 80% of China's global unicorn enterprises and specialized and new "little giant" enterprises, respectively, demonstrating great potential in technological innovation and rapidly growing in strategic emerging fields such as high-end equipment, artificial intelligence, new materials, and biomanufacturing.
This year marks the end of the 14th Five Year Plan and an important year for further comprehensive deepening of reforms. At a time when the global economic landscape is being reshaped and technological competition among major powers continues to intensify, General Secretary Xi Jinping deeply analyzed the difficulties and challenges facing the development of the private economy: "Overall, they have emerged in the process of reform and development, industrial transformation and upgrading, are local rather than overall, temporary rather than long-term, and can be overcome rather than unsolvable"
