Chiyan Glass Supports the Implementation of the New National Standard and Promotes the Standardization Development of the Flexible Glass Industry
According to the National Standard Information Public Service Platform, the new national standard GB/T 44752-2024 "Flexible Glass Bending Fatigue Test Method" drafted and formulated by Chiyan Glass (Zhaohong Precision (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd.) will be officially implemented from May 1, 2025. This standard specifies the testing principles, standardized testing equipment, specimens, testing procedures, and testing reports for the bending fatigue performance of flexible glass with a thickness of 100 μ m or less. It is the first national standard in the field of ultra-thin flexible glass, marking an important step forward in China's standardization in this field. It is of great significance for promoting the standardization and development of scientific research and industrial applications of ultra-thin flexible glass.
The GB/T 44752-2024 national standard is under the jurisdiction of the China Building Materials Federation. The preparation period will last for 12 months from 2023, inviting institutions and units in the upstream and downstream industries, including Chiyan Glass, including production, academia, research, application, and supervision, to participate together. It was officially released on October 26th this year.
Standardization of Performance Evaluation for Ultra Thin Flexible Glass
In recent years, with major mobile phone brands continuously increasing their "straight board+foldable screen" dual flagship strategic layout, foldable displays have gradually become a trend in the new generation of display industry. During use, the screen continuously bends within a certain angle range, making it prone to cumulative damage and even failure. This places higher quality requirements on ultra-thin flexible glass, one of the key materials for foldable screens.
However, previously, there was no unified standard for evaluating the bending resistance of ultra-thin flexible glass in various links of the domestic flexible display industry chain. The application and implementation of GB/T 44752-2024 national standard has filled the gap in this field, provided technical support for evaluating product quality and product life, and injected vitality into the healthy competition in the market.
As one of the standard reference units, Chiyan Glass has deep expertise in the field of ultra-thin flexible glass. As early as 2021, Chiyan Glass proactively laid out the research and development of ultra-thin flexible glass, and in 2023, through independent research and development, it broke through the foreign technology blockade and launched the first ultra-thin flexible glass product made by one-time drawing and forming process in China - Chiyan U1, which has been recognized and favored by customers. This participation is also a powerful validation of Chiyan Glass's technological reserves and industry discourse power.
Promote industry development and assist industries in moving towards new directions
As the upstream of the folding display industry chain, the construction of a standardized system for ultra-thin flexible glass provides authoritative references for the evaluation of various links in the industry chain, and also helps guide major manufacturers to improve their preparation processes and enhance product core performance. It is of great significance for promoting the rapid development of China's folding display industry and achieving overtaking in the curve.
Currently, the world is undergoing unprecedented changes, and industrial standardization has become an indispensable key support in international trade and market competition. Chiyan Glass adheres to the leadership of technological innovation, focuses on enhancing technological reserves, seizes the "high ground" of industry standard setting and market competition, builds a "moat" for sustainable development of enterprises, and contributes more to the high-level, safe, and high-quality development of China's new display industry.
